Estérel Resort is equipped with heat detectors and smoke alarms. Although the possibility is small, please note the following tips:
Using the map displayed behind the door of your room, identify the location of emergency exits, fire extinguishers and fire alarms. Always have your room key in hand.
A carbon monoxide detector is installed to assure your security. If the detector’s alarm rings, get out of the room immediately. Close the door behind you and inform the reception.
Stay calm and do not panic. Touch the door of your room. If the door is hot, do not open it. Otherwise, open it and check the status of the hall. If the alarm has not yet been activated, and you smell smoke in the hall, activate the alarm. If there is no smoke in the hall, leave your room and bring your room key with you.
Close your bedroom door and head towards the emergency exit nearest you. If there is smoke in the stairs, take the stairs at the other end of the hall or return to your room. Customers with disabilities should contact the front desk for help.
Fill the tub with cold water, soak sheets and towels and place them at the bottom of the door.
Call the front desk (DIAL “0”) and tell them your incapacity of accessing the hall nor the stairs because of smoke. If the smoke starts to enter your room, crouch down below the level of smoke and protect your nose and mouth with a wet cloth.
