Sommellerie became a part of my life very early on. It all began 45 years ago at Clos Vougeot in Burgundy. After earning my diploma in hotel management from ITHQ in 1984, catering quickly became the heart of my career. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in some of the finest establishments and, in 2003 and 2004, I won the Gérard Delage Professional Cup, competing for the title of Best Sommelier in Quebec.

Working alongside some of the best in the industry—at Le Nôtre, the Center Sheraton, Hôtel Vogue (Philippe Mollé), La Queue de Cheval, L’Eau à la Bouche (Anne Desjardins), La Forge, and now Estérel Resort and Bistro à Champlain—has shaped my discipline and strengthened my expertise.

My passion for wine began many years ago. I enrolled at the École Hôtelière des Laurentides, where, under the guidance of Jacques Orhon, I decided to follow the wine path. My journey started with great joy at Bistro à Champlain in Sainte-Marguerite-du-Lac-Masson — a dream destination for sommeliers and wine lovers around the world. Home to one of North America’s largest wine cellars, with over 40,000 bottles and 4,000 labels, it was also where I had the chance to collaborate with renowned chefs. For nearly two decades, the harmony between wine and fine cuisine became my true voyage.

What brings me the greatest joy is seeing a guest’s smile after a recommendation. To once again work with part of the legendary Champlain cellar, now housed at Estérel Resort, is both a privilege and an honour. Each bottle tells its own story — and wine, for me, tells mine.
